See How We Take Action
The Foundation works to educate and engage our region’s government officials, regulators, and community members about the importance of economic development that is forward-looking and fair while supportive of our region’s longstanding heritage of agriculture and tourism leadership. Our approach is fact-based and fearless. If we need to pursue a lawsuit, petition a regulator, file public comments, or seek access to government documents, we do so.
The Foundation’s current focus is on holding Rockwool, and all governmental authorities involved in the recruitment and construction of this multi-billion dollar insulation manufacturing company factory in Jefferson County, accountable for their actions. We believe that heavy industry like Rockwool will be detrimental to the County’s natural resources and existing industries. Through education and legal and regulatory action we are working inform the public and help protect our community from the risks of Rockwool.

Clean Air
We envision sustainable development that does not harm the existing natural resources in this county, including the air we all breathe. Our local equine, tourism, and agricultural industries all rely on clean air to prosper.
Fair Taxes & Effective Incentives
We envision transparent and effective government support of sustainable economic development in Jefferson County. Let’s leave behind the tired old playbooks of uneven tax breaks and incentives and instead use fair and legal techniques that work now and for the long-term. The stakes are even higher, as we work together to address the economic impact of the coronavirus pandemic.
